Equity Inclusion and Diversity Day

Ackerman Grand Ballroom

This is an event for all graduate students that focuses on issues that are particularly challenging to underrepresented students. New graduate students will have the opportunity to learn about resources, to network, and to get acquainted with the university in a supportive environment. The goal of EID Day is to help new graduate students make personal connections and to promote an inclusive campus climate, personal well-being, and academic success. The event is free of charge. Lunch will be provided and the afternoon sessions will be followed by a networking reception/dinner for all registered attendees.

Graduate Student Orientation

The UCLA Graduate Students Association and the UCLA Graduate Student Resource Center invite all new graduate and professional school students to the Graduate Student Orientation. This comprehensive orientation includes lunch, a resource fair, and workshops that provide information to ease your transition into graduate school, introduce you to campus services and involvement opportunities, and show you just how much UCLA has to offer. Start your graduate career at UCLA off right!

TA Conference

The annual TA Conference offers two full days of interactive teaching workshops and TA training. First-time and future TAs are encouraged to attend. Throughout the workshop, you will have the opportunity to attend a variety of specialized workshops and panels on topics ranging from lesson planning and assessment & grading to preparing a teaching portfolio, improving communication in our multicultural classrooms, and creating inclusive classrooms.

Black Convocation

Black Convocation is an annual event that welcomes new and returning students to the UCLA campus and makes them aware of the different organizations, departments, and resources available to serve them. It is an evening full of Bruin pride, providing encouragement, lively entertainment, anecdotes about the past, and a glimpse of the future from UCLA faculty, staff, and alumni. Refreshments will be provided. Join us!

Undocu Grad and Professional Welcome Dinner

The UndocuGrad and Professional community is relatively small, but growing. We want to make sure we are supporting your transition in, as well as support those who are continuing to navigate UCLA. We are hosting a dinner to support your on-boarding to UCLA by connecting you with other undocugrad/professional students, and faculty and staff who are supportive of undocumented students at UCLA.
